Accessibility of a site for reserving town stays
The office wants everyone who plans a trip with us to be able to read every page, compare every stay and send a request without help. Last revised on November 4, 2026.
Built to WCAG 2.2 AA
Every page is built toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Text and controls are sized and colored for contrast, every form field has a written label, and the pages keep working when text is enlarged to 200 percent or the window is narrowed to a phone.
How the drawings are described
Each town page draws a short row of houses that shows the town's census count on a scale where every roof is worth ten times the one before. Each drawing carries a text description with the exact figures, and the same numbers sit in plain text in the facts table on the page, so nothing depends on seeing the picture.
Tab keys, readers and the house drawings
- A link at the top of every page skips straight to the main content.
- The menu, the questions and answers and the form can all be used with the keyboard alone.
- Every photograph has a short text description of what it shows.
- No content moves, flashes or plays sound on its own.
Wide tables on phones
Wide tables, such as the price table, scroll sideways on small screens rather than reflowing. If that gets in your way, call the office and the same figures will be read to you or sent in a plain email.
Telling the office
If any part of the site is hard to use, please say so by phone or email using the details at the foot of the page. Describe the page and what happened, and the office will answer and fix what it can.
